Critical Systems & Data
IT System
The company uses a Windows NT Platform.
Logistics
The business uses an integrated logistic management program, which uses bar-codes
to track sale volumes. This program allows goods to be scanned at the point
of sale and prices to be looked up from a table. It then outputs data in
terms of sales volume and profit/loss.
Orders
The ordering system is integrated into an accounts receivable/payable application.
This interface allows orders to be placed (based on sales information from
the logistics program) and then for these orders to be followed up on. When
goods are delivered, the received stock information is passed to the logistics
program. Invoices information is input into the orders system, which then
generates payment advice (as per correct supplier terms).
Payroll
There is a staff of 8 that work at the supermarket, in varying capacities.
The business uses a payroll system to log employment costs and expenses.
Office Suite
The supermarket uses the Microsoft Office suite of programs for general administrative
requirements (particularly Word).

access to current and historical data.

have to be paid. This is done on a monthly basis as the business withholds
between $25 000 - $1 000 000 a year.
Staff
Need to get paid the correct amount of money on a timely weekly basis. They
also need access to the computer systems relevant to their job processes.
